A while back, a friend of mind and I were discussing the topic of commitment. I was sharing a situation where I felt that I needed to be ‘all in’ or not. Sitting on a fence for too long can become uncomfortable. My friend was telling me about a television show he watched where they asked a guy if he knew how to swim. The guy replied, “Sure, I watched videos on the internet and practiced on the kitchen floor!”
As your year starts to wind down, you might be coming to the realization that you didn’t accomplish everything that you had planned on this year. You might be asking yourself, “Why am I not getting what I really want in “X” area of my life?”

How do you celebrate your goals? It’s January and the pinnacle of the pro football season is almost upon us … the Superbowl. Folks will gather on Superbowl Sunday across the country and in various parts of the world to jump, scream, and holler, each and every time their team drives down the field and pushes the football past the goal line.
With what seems like a continual flow of untruthfulness from our politicians and the media, is it any wonder that we have become numb to truthfulness. “Reality” television shows retake scenes until they get it to a point that will captivate the audience … and in doing so they move further away from the truth and further away from reality. Whether it is by omission or the careful selection of one’s words … being untruthful is the same as lying!
Whether it is a decision to exercise or a decision to spend the rest of your life with someone you love … no commitment can be complete unless you are ALL IN! So how do you define ALL IN?
